More Accurate, Comprehensive Eye Exams with Optomap Technology
During eye exams, our team assesses the condition of the blood vessels in your retina (the back lining of your eye) to identify any abnormalities. Traditional methods of retinal examination only allow doctors to see approximately 15% of the retina. As a result, there may be a chance that an eye disease is overlooked and therefore not treated or managed in a timely manner.
The Margolis Vision team takes eye exams very seriously. We have invested in technology to provide a more comprehensive view of the retina, making your exam results more accurate.
Our optomap® ultra-wide digital retinal imaging system allows Dr. Margolis to view 80% of the retinal area in one panoramic view. By capturing a larger view of the retina, we can diagnose signs of eye disease as early as possible. It is a very quick and painless – yet powerful – technique.
When the retinal tissue becomes damaged, irreversible vision loss can occur. Our optomap technology allows for early detection and treatment of retinal diseases such as age-related macular degeneration (AMD), diabetic retinopathy and glaucoma. Retinal disruption can also signal health problems such as high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes or stroke.
